What a month! Not this one, but the last one. And here is a whole new month, and a new lunar cycle (a new moon last night). I hear Astro promises of the usual joy and turbulence ahead. There have already been a few “moments” I’ve had to manage that raised my stress level last week.
Luckily there are tools… And I’m back in the saddle. However seismic! As elections cycles (and the U.S.’ Pluto return to boot) can be.
I am on track to get some summer fun in with hiking. What’s fun for you this season? The pics and video below are some of my favorite spots in the mountains above Boulder. I revisited this special place yesterday, and it was such a reset. The high country above Boulder will really clear out the brain smog and revitalize the sleepy cells.
I continue to learn so much. Isn’t it crazy, a friend and I were saying, how much information is available now? I have been experimenting with the “slow carb diet” (ala Tim Ferriss” book, The Four Hour Body). Nine pounds down! I’ve been doing a deep dive into some health-related podcasts… (OK, why are some of these 2.5 hours? Jeesh! Even on high speed that’s a chunk of time.)
Try this podcast and Instagram dude - The Huberman Lab - Here is a video of stress-reducing breathing hacks - including the Physiological Sigh. Watch Andrew’s video. Then try his breathing tools with this video from my mountain hike
yesterday. Fun homework!
Summer is a short season here. I’m thinking about how short our lifetime is… (Book I’m reading on this: Four Thousand Weeks). I hope you are taking advantage of both.
Are you getting to the sweet spot of coping well and living with more meaning and purpose? Summer can be a good time for an upgrade. I currently have three therapy openings and one coaching opening (free consult times here). Check out the latest blog about a recent client rocking therapy and what helped that happen. The new book leads to much clarity and fast empowerment for my peeps.
I’m so happy you are here. Welcome new subscribers! Hit reply or comment to let me know what else I can write about and how to serve you best.
Enjoy July,
Denise
