I’ve been following Robert Middleton for maybe twenty years now. He supports independent professionals to find their own authentic marketing voice. Now retired, he still has a marketing club available for a monthly fee with tons of great material. Lots of free resources on his website too, if you wish to check out his approach. It’s very grounded and practical, plus he also has delved into Byron Katie’s work and knows about facing inner challenges.
Robert retired this year but has kept his newsletter going. The focus has shifted away from marketing wisdom and is titled: “The Way I See It - My Thoughts on Living a Sane, Thriving Life in the 21st Century. Retirement is no easy passage - it’s been inspiring to watch him adapt and shape-shift. Good articles too!
One of the projects after the shift that Robert began was a type of podcast series called Ordinary Visionaries. He invites people from his email list to be interviewed. And I’m inviting you to take part if you feel inspired. Here is how he describes the project:
Ordinary Visionaries are everyday people who have put their visions into the world and taken action to make a difference.
These interviews are with self-employed professionals, consultants, coaches, trainers, speakers, and writers. I’ll also be interviewing artists, musicians, and other creative visionaries. Many have been past clients, friends, or members of my online community.
I start every interview with the question: “What makes you an Ordinary Visionary?” And we go from there.
If you’d like to be interviewed for Ordinary Visionaries, go here for more information.
If it weren’t for the Stress to Strength book and my passion to get it out to those who would benefit, I would have passed on this. But Robert kept asking in his newsletters, plus he published the interviews. And I realized yes, I do keep pushing my edges. This book is small but mighty, and I have hopes it can make a difference.
Here is the interview - it’s #21 and you’ll see my picture there… It was great fun. We could have gone on and on… Let me know what you think. See if you can tell when I get a little “deer in the headlights” at one point.
Happy Spring - we’re having lovely tree colors here.
